Welcome to the first edition of The Power Builder, Personal PAC’s monthly newsletter that aims to educate, inspire, and activate you! This newsletter will be your one-stop resource for reproductive freedom news and resources, as well as updates about our cross-movement work with partners around the state. We don’t live single-issue lives, and we must all work together to protect our communities’ safety and freedoms.
New Look, Same Mission
Personal PAC’s refreshed brand identity includes new colors, a modernized website, and a clear, unapologetic tagline: Abortion is health care. This rebrand reflects who we’ve always been and where we’re going. Our vision remains unchanged: equitable access to reproductive health care in Illinois, free from government interference. The updated brand is modern, bold, and unapologetic. It is designed to energize supporters, attract new allies, and reaffirm Personal PAC’s leadership in the fight for abortion rights and access in Illinois.
The Future: NextGen Board of Directors
Personal PAC is proud to announce the launch of our NextGen Board of Directors, a powerful new group of emerging leaders committed to protecting and expanding reproductive freedom in Illinois for generations to come. From O’Fallon to Metropolis, Chicago to the suburbs, these passionate advocates bring fresh energy, diverse expertise, and an unwavering commitment to the fight for reproductive rights. Their leadership and vision inspire us, and we can’t wait to share all they’ll accomplish in 2026 and beyond.
Annual Luncheon Recap
For decades, Personal PAC has gathered the people who have shaped Illinois into a sanctuary for abortion care. But this year felt different. We came together in hope and despair for what is happening around the country. The message was clear: We are not backing down. Governor Pritzker spoke about his commitment to working with Personal PAC and other allies to protect Illinois. And Minnesota Lt. Governor Peggy Flanagan talked about her vision for the future, where no one gets left behind in the fight for reproductive freedom. Everyone left inspired and ready to get to work!
In the Moment:Hands Off Chicago
Once Trump was elected, Personal PAC joined forces with Equality Illinois, Illinois Coalition for Immigrant and Refugee Rights, Chicago Federal for Labor, Sierra Club, and Indivisible Chicago to fight back against the multiple attacks impacting our communities. We’ve worked together for years and have a shared respect and understanding about the intersections of our work and our constituencies. Our latest collaboration, Hands off Chicago, is a campaign to help Chicagoans show their opposition to this unlawful military occupation. I was proud to be out with thousands of people last weekend, showing our communicable resistance to the Trump regime.
Two actions you can take right now to protect our immigrant communities:
1. Visit Hands of Chicago to get involved, download resources, and stay connected to a community ready to defend Chicago and our neighbors.
2. Get social! Follow Hands Off Chicago on Instagram and on X. Post on social media and/or change your profile picture to this graphic. Remember to include #HandsOffChicago in your posts.
We Have Hope
We’re holding on to hope, the kind born from action, courage, and community. Hope is what fuels our fight for a future where every person can move freely and have he freedom to make their own decisions about their bodies and their lives.. The No Kings protests captured that spirit perfectly, reminding us that power belongs with the people. Personal PAC is proud to be part of this movement because real hope comes from organizing, speaking out, and protecting each other. Check out Indivisible Chicago’s Take Action Chicago website for actions you can take locally and nationwide.
In solidarity,
